Is carpet having a “come back?”

What is contributing to that?

What are the most important advances?

At Southwind, we believe there is a rediscovery of carpet and all of its advantages going on today on the residential side. Carpet has been a favorite flooring choice for decades, but now there are more reasons to love it again.

Carpet helps define “quiet and comfort zones” in an open floor plan which has become so popular these days in the remodeling of older homes. When interior walls come down in favor of larger, open spaces, sound transference can become an issue. Carpeting in the living spaces quiets and soothes the environment—setting it apart for family time or entertaining.

Installing carpet is often less complicated in prep, quicker to install, and less disruptive and expensive overall as a replacement flooring solution.
