By Drew Hash, President and CEO of Southwind Flooring

Q:  How and why did Southwind’s soft surface sales and volume have the results they did?

A: At Southwind, we do well by playing in the middle to high-end. You won’t find any base-grade carpet on a Southwind display. We believe the residential market is skewing higher as the share of floor (bedrooms mostly) shrinks. So with Southwind, you get a lot for your carpet dollar.

Q: What were the bright spots in Southwind’s soft surface business?

A: The best sellers at Southwind in 2024 were our 60oz. Exalted Prime and our 80oz. Pure Luxury II and are great examples of our proven strategy. They are in our sweet spot.

Q: What innovations did your company bring to the soft surface market in 2024?

How did these investments in innovation help position Southwind’s carpet competitively on the retail floor?

A: At Southwind, what we bring to the market is a consistency of investment, regardless of the ups and downs of the market. That’s what keeps Southwind a dealer favorite, year after year.
